The 38-year-old actress who gave birth to Anne Jacqueline Hathaway, wants everyone to call her “Annie” to move forward, she told Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday’s episode of The Tonight Show.

Introducing her as Anne, Fallon asked, “Can we talk about my name for a moment?” Before you inquire about her name.
Referring to her first commercial at the age of 14 where she was asked what name she wanted on her Screen Actors Guild card, she chose to carry her birth name, without realizing that she would follow her for the rest of her life.
She said, “The only person who ever called me Anne is my mom and she does it only when she’s really mad at me, like she’s really angry.”
She confessed, “ Every time I go out in public and someone calls my name, I think they’ll yell at me.
Rebrand: The Princess Diaries actress admitted that she started acting under the name Anne when she was 14, without realizing that she would follow her her whole life.
Negative Correlations: “The only person who called me now is my mother and she only does it when she’s very angry with me, as if she’s really angry,” Fallon said
On high alert: “Every time I go out in public and someone calls my name, I think they’ll shout at me,” she confessed
She said, “People are like Anne, and I’m like, ‘What, what have I done? So please seriously, just don’t hesitate.
“The truth is, no one is comfortable calling me Ann, at all, it doesn’t suit me I’m Annie, so people call me like Mrs. H and Hath [on set]… so feel free to call me anything but Ann, ‘she pleaded.
Getting the note, Fallon referred to the actress in The Princess Diaries as Annie, for the remainder of the virtual interview.
This is tea: Hoping to correct her name to the audience, she made one last plea, “Feel free to call me anything but Anne.”
Hathaway and Fallon continue to talk about her home life because she is the mother of four-year-old Jonathan and one-year-old Jack with husband of nine-year-old Adam Shulman.
Her new movie Locked Down – which premieres January 14 on HBO Max – is a quarantined robbery about a long-term relationship that has completed its course.
The plot emerges when the duo are forced to stay together in quarantine for 14 days after a co-worker has symptoms, and the couple decides to drastically steal 3 million pounds from a mass murderer.
